Teradata Accounting Manager in Peachtree Corners, Georgia

Job Summary

This position requires a highly motivated individual to step into a key role within Teradata’s Chief Accounting Officer’s group. The position reports directly to the Senior Director of Revenue and Accounting and has one direct report. The position provides high visibility to senior executives at the Company and is a great opportunity for someone looking to take their career to the next level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance in understanding the accounting implications of FASB pronouncements

  • Provide accounting guidance and research on various issues

  • Interface with our external auditors (pwc) and others on complex accounting issues

  • Review audit accruals, monitor payments, record and reconcile monthly entry for corporate accrual

  • Review international audit accruals/monthly expense for irregularities

  • Prepare monthly outlook and results analysis

  • Review corporate policy updates

  • Assist individuals with corporate policy interpretations and provided expertise and guidance related to complex subject areas.

  • Maintain policy website

  • Help identify transactions required for review by revenue team, including reviewing documents to ensure completeness of the revenue jackets

  • Monitoring the revenue review process, through weekly daily reports

  • Monitoring/maintaining documents loaded to the revenue SharePoint site.

  • Maintain the revenue recognition website

  • Responsible for equity-based accounting, including:

  • Reviewing monthly Fidelity reports for completeness and accuracy

  • Review stock comp awards to determine proper valuation, timing of expense and expense category

  • Providing accounting guidance on equity-based compensation issues

  • Reconcile all accounts associated with equity based compensation

  • Preparing monthly outlook and results analysis

  • Preparing monthly expense entries, monthly/quarterly reports for internal and external reporting.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

  • 10+ years of related experience

  • Strong technical accounting experience

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts, both written and verbal

  • Ability to work across the Company at all levels

  • A preferred candidate will also hold a CPA license and have a background in public accounting and experience working on larger SEC clients
