Teradata Senior Test Architect in San Diego, California

Teradata Corporation is looking for a seasoned individual for a position in the Teradata Quality group. As a team member, you will use your technical skills to oversee several R&D programs engaged in innovative ways to improve product quality (on premise and Cloud). You’ll be a person with deep technical knowledge assisting the Quality and Test organization in developing testing infrastructure, authoring automation frameworks and evaluating features in order to create complex automated tests. Spend time consulting Integration and Performance test teams on how to improve test effectiveness. Provide technical leadership and strategic direction across the testing community, but between other engineering disciplines as well. Deep dive into customer issues and work on closing the Gaps in our testing. Able to affect change not only across the testing community, but between other engineering disciplines as well. Be a technical advisor to the Quality Director.

The activities are geared towards improving product quality with a focus on upstream process improvements and the adoption of the Agile methodology. These efforts will require you to interact with employees at every level and in different parts of the organization worldwide.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong hands-on SQL and Database knowledge

  • Hands-on Test Designing and Architecting Complex Ecosystems

  • Clear concepts of testings systems under heavy load, concurrency and scale.

  • Strong programming skills using R and/or python

  • Deep understanding of Continuous integration.

  • Working knowledge of tools like Jenkins, GIT , JIRA etc.

  • Fast learner with strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Demonstrated strength in verbal and written communication

  • Must be familiar with the Agile Methodology

  • Familiar with the Cloud

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Ability to work well with a wide range of individuals

Basic Qualifications:

  • Project management experience (5 years)

  • Knowledge of statistical methodologies is desired

  • BA/BS Math or Computer Science
