Teradata Vice President, Digital Marketing in San Diego, California

Overall Responsibilities:

The VP, Digital Marketing will be responsible for the vision, leadership, implementation and measurement of Teradata’s overallDigital Marketing Excellencestrategy. As such, the role requires a passionate, business-oriented marketing leader who can provide strategic leadership and management in the design, development and execution of Teradata’s digital strategy globally.

The ideal candidate will provide strategic, technical, and operating expertise while bringing creativity, vision, and passion to this newly created digital marketing organization. Therefore, along with the senior management team, this role will be critical in the development of the company’s holistic marketing strategy to drive growth of the Teradata business.

The VP, Digital Marketing will be responsible for managing a team of marketing professionals, including:

  • 4 people in Digital Marketing (US)

  • 3 people in Digital Marketing (Globally)

  • 4 people in Social Marketing (US)

  • 3 open headcount currently

Individual Responsibilities:

  • Drive marketing transformation toward a digital demand model

  • Define and execute digital marketing plans required to fulfill Teradata’sgrowth goals

  • Develop a Digital Center of Excellence in San Diego and EMEA (London)

  • Develop an approach that ensures global uniformity across all channels and delivers a consistent integrated digital customer experience

  • Drive Teradata site traffic by employing digital techniques as a part of an integrated approach across all touch-points

  • Leverage social media to promote brand awareness, drive demand, listen and respond to customers and trends

  • Develop a corporate wide strategy for social influencers and lead authentic and impactful partnerships across social platforms

  • Approach all marketing with a sales-minded mentality to deliver on monthly and quarterly sales target’s driving a volume of quality leads and conversion

  • Provide leadership to build a high performance driven digital marketing operation to include: paid media, SEO/SEM, social, web.

  • Oversee all paid media (display, social, video, retargeting).

  • Work with Marketing Operations to determine appropriate tools to support digital marketing

  • Work in partnership with internal functional teams as a digital marketing partner in forwarding business capabilities

  • Make calculated decisions around the functions brought in-house vs. outsourced

  • Deliver the highest level of service to both internal and external constituents

  • Create a strong internal culture to manage digital marketing programs with accurate time estimates, adherence to deadlines, and strong communication to stakeholders

  • Provide input to annual budget exercises and manage organizational spending to set budgets

  • Maintains digital marketing project dashboards as well as other dashboards monitoring key business metrics

  • Communicate program status and overview for groups including senior level executives, clients and vendor partners

  • Provide regular project updates to and coordinates project presentations for the Senior Leadership Team

  • Grow and scale a performance marketing department by recruiting world-class digital talent as needed, creating and fostering an environment conducive to innovation, high productivity, and high quality

  • Provide strong daily inspiration, leadership, and management to digital teams, including recruitment, employee training and development, and performance management

  • Work with Web analyst to uncover insights and predictive cause-and-effect indicators in cross-channel clickstream data, and be able to use those outputs to inform, educate, and guide future marketing activities, as well as to create more highly engaging cross-channel user experiences

  • Work with IT leaders to create effective support models for current and future digital marketing technologies, whether developed here or purchased from other vendors, to ensure smooth interoperability.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, digital marketing or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience); Master’s degree (MBA, Marketing) strongly preferred

  • 10 -15 years’ experience in a senior management role with global responsibilities is required

  • Experience driving lead generation to online and mobile platforms

  • Experience leveraging attribution models to ensure proper investment monitoring and execution

  • Prior hands-on experience managing macro and micro-focused projects in digital marketing

  • Must have program management as well as experience with contracting, project management, regulatory adherence, marketing, financial analysis, and vendor and staff management.

  • Ability to motivate individuals in a team-oriented, collaborative, results-driven organization.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment and interact with partners and customers directly

  • Exceptionally self-motivated and directed with a focus on delivering tangible results

  • Experience operationalizing the collection, interpretation, and summarization of cross-channel clickstream data, using it to provide the business with insights around their marketing results and effectiveness, as well as to create unique digital experiences

  • Ability to evaluate and influence development of effective digital marketing IT support models

Location:

Position will be located in our San Diego, CA. corporate HQ. Interested individuals must be willing to relocate (if not already located within a commutable distance to San Diego) to be considered for the role. An standard industry relocation package will be presented as part of the overall offer package should it be needed.
