Teradata Senior Specialist Network Engineer Cloud Ops in Sydney, Australia

What You’ll Do

  • Configure, maintain and troubleshoot network components such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.

  • Manage, monitor, oversee the performance, availability, and scalability of cloud-based network systems.

  • Develop and maintain scripts for automating network tasks and processes using tools like Python, Shell, Ansible or PowerShell.

  • Implement and manage network security measures, including VPNs, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.

  • Respond to and resolve network incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and impact on operations.

  • Work closely with other IT teams, including DevOps, Security, and Development, to ensure seamless integration and operation of network services.

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures.

What Makes You a Qualified Candidate

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, or a related field

  • 7+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GC)

  • Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and experience with network hardware and software

  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, or equivalent

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve network issues

  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (Python, Shell, Ansible, PowerShell)

  • Understanding of network security principles and best practices.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders

  • Good understanding of ITIL (certification will be an advantage)

  • Hands-on with an industry standard ITIL tool (ServiceNow experience preferred)

  • Flexibility and Willingness to work in a 24x7 environment and adapt to shift schedules as per the roster

  • Cloud Network Expertise:

  • AWS Technologies: Experience with AWS networking services such as VPC, ELB, AWS Direct Connect, AWS Transit Gateway, and AWS PrivateLink. Familiarity with AWS Route 53 for DNS management, AWS CloudFront and AWS Security services like AWS Shield and AWS WAF

  • Azure Technologies: Proficiency with Azure networking services including Azure VNet, Azure Load Balancer, Azure ExpressRoute, and Azure Private Link. Knowledge of Azure DNS for domain management, Azure Traffic Manager for DNS-based traffic routing, and Azure Front Door for content delivery. Experience with Azure Network Watcher for monitoring and diagnostics
